I’m Noa (they/them), the owner and artist behind Noa Samson Embroidery.

I first picked up embroidery in May of 2018 on a whim. Frustrated by my lack of ideas for a project, I stitched an impromptu sampler around the word “ugh”. I immediately fell in love with the craft but still didn’t have inspiration for my next hoops, and so began the parade of embroidered UGHs.

Over the years I’ve come to stitch many other subjects, but “ugh” remains the theme of many of my hoops. Each piece I make is hand-stitched, with some fabrics I use being hand-dyed or painted.

I also organize Queer Craft Club, a crafting meetup group for queer and trans folks in and around NYC. Read more about QCC here.
